Donald and Viola Daigle
Brief History
Acadieville Gardens is a family enterprise founded in 1980, when Donald Daigle started out by planting 400 strawberry plants. A few years later, he planted several acres of Brussels sprouts and broccoli for the Rogersville Brussels sprouts cooperative. More vegetables were added over the years including cabbage, cauliflower, turnips, pumpkins, tomatoes and potatoes. His wife, Viola, did the bookkeeping for the farm. They have five children: Jérémi, Brigitte, Simon, Émilie and Alexandre.
Description
Acadieville Gardens is currently going through a transition. Donald and his son Jérémi have been working in cranberries for Ocean Spray, while Alexandre has been considering advanced studies in agriculture.
