At its eighth Annual General Meeting of the Agricultural Alliance of New Brunswick, on January 23rd and 24th, 2014, a number of producers and individuals were recognized for their contribution to New Brunswick Agriculture.

- Gérard Thébeau was presented with the James Robb “AGROLOGIST OF THE YEAR AWARD” in recognition of his untiring commitment towards agricultural producers. This award recognizes outstanding professional achievement, performance, and leadership by a New Brunswick agricultural professional which has improved or demonstrated benefits to or for the New Brunswick agricultural industry. The James Robb Award is part of an exchange between the Agricultural Alliance of New Brunswick and the New Brunswick Institute of Agrologists.

Gérard Thébeau has worked at Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada Experimental station in Bouctouche, NB from 1985 to 1996 as a Research Technician, and joined the NB Department of Agriculture in 1997 as a Crop Development Officer where he continues to work with farmers to diversify and to find the best market opportunities for their crops.

“Gérard Thébeau has always had agriculture at heart. As a farmer’s son, he is a staunch defender of the family farm in Kent, Westmorland and Albert Counties, and the entire province. He was able to encourage the mobilizing of producers and had a great influence in the development of the “Really Local Harvest Co-op”. His enthusiasm and expertise have helped guide the Really Local Harvest co-operative since its inception and he continues to help by offering advice to individual members as well as the whole group. Gérard is a friend of agriculture in the truest sense.”
