Communications and special events coordinator


The Really Local Harvest Co-op (RLHC) is made up of 30 agricultural producers located throughout southeastern N.B. The co-op’s main mandate is to promote its members and their products through various promotional activities, special events and initiatives such as the Dieppe Market, the Really Local Harvest Basket as well as the RLHC’s Farm to cafeteria initiative.

The communications and special events coordinator is responsible for the execution of the co-op’s promotional plan in collaboration with the RLHC Executive Director, the Dieppe Market Manager as well as other team members.

Essential tasks

• Promote member’s products in accordance to the harvest calendar.
• Research and development of content for the RLHC and Dieppe Market web platforms and social media campaigns.
• Distribute promotional material to members and conduct photo and video shoots.
• Coordinate radio and newsprint advertising.
• Press relations (events and campaigns)
• Develop promotional tools.
• Coordinate special events such as the Dieppe Market’s 10th anniversary and the Dieppe Harvest Festival.

Required skills and experience

• Solid experience in project management and communications.
• Bilingual (English/French) written and spoken.
• Experience with audio-visual equipment and editing is an asset.
• Natural leader, self-motivated and highly organized individual.
• Able to work alone, set and reach goals.
• Discretion and good judgment.
• Ease at communicating with people.
• Ability to perform multiple tasks within a restrained time frame.
• Basic understanding of issues pertaining to the N.B. agricultural sector is an asset.

Start Date: May 4th 2015
Hours: Full time 40 hrs/week
Length: Minimum 20 weeks with possible extension
Salary: $20/hr
