*Temporary Full time (4 months) – Potential extension to permanent full time*

Position Overview

The Dieppe Market maintenance manager reports to the Market Manager and is responsible for the general maintenance of the building.

Essential job functions

• Under the immediate supervision of the Dieppe Market Manager, the maintenance manager makes sure that the building’s interior and exterior are clean and safe at all times (i.e.: entrances, the paved surface immediately adjacent to the building, signage, floors, walls, washrooms, stairs, doors, widows and bulletin boards).

• Supervises casual maintenance staff and submits time sheets to the Market Manager.

• Takes care of minor repairs in accordance with the directives from the Market Manager.

• Prepares the market hall for the Bingo, the Saturday market and special events
(i.e.: installs tables, cleans up garbage, kiosk moving).

Secondary job functions

• Security during the Saturday Market
• Support to vendors
• Response to alarms (as per agreement with manager.)


• Availability: Is available in accordance with the work scheduled determined by the Market manager. Some hours during the week can be flexible.

• Supervision: Is capable to plan and prioritize work tasks and to supervise casual workers.

• Communication: Is capable of communicating with the management team, the work crew, the public and the vendors, in a clear, precise and courteous manner. The employee is a good representative of the Dieppe Market.

• Maintenance: Has basic knowledge of the building’s general maintenance systems (fire and security, heating and ventilation, electric and other.).
